After the rain

Good Morning!
I "finally" have some weather to talk about.  That might seem funny to you, but when everyday is blue and sunny and hot, a few clouds and rain makes for conversation around the water cooler here.
I took most of these photos after a nice but all too brief rain the other day.  It's strange here how some parts of town are nearly drowning in a down pour, and other parts get a sprinkle or two.  I won't complain however, it was a much needed rain. :-)

Heavy clouds, something we don't really get to see here that often, so the sky wasn't going to escape my camera this time.  ( I changed this to sepia tone for a more intense effect. )

Yes, I actually took a photo of the ground.  While enjoying the freshness of the air after the rain, I noticed how the wet stones in the courtyard reflected the light.

Everything in the garden seemed to wake up.

Even the dead leaves seemed to want to take the stage one last time.

So, while I was wishing for more rain I'm thankful for what we did receive.  The sky was different, and it was a nice change, and made for a more interesting, colorful sunset, and I like that. :-)

Well, it's sunny and blue again today!  At least the triple digits are finally over and we are experiencing cooler, more enjoyable temperatures.
As I write this post, the window is open and the fresh air feels good.  I hear the birds out there enjoying it too. :-)
I hope you are having a nice day in your part of the world!

See you soon...
Becca

Yes, when we lived in Arizona it was blue skies every day. We did talk about the heat a lot though. Unbearable.

Great photos!

Beautiful photos Becca and i love how you captured the rain drops on the leaves. It's nice to hear how happy you about the rain. Where i come from everyone just moans and groans when it is raining. Which is too bad since we get awesome thunderstorms
there. Here on the island there is no lightning or thunder storms!! It's like a different country and i tell everyone they must experience (thunderstorm) it at least once in their lifetime!

I love the cobblestone photo too!!

Really gorgeous images Becca. I love your shallow DOF shots....they're remarkable. Not a fan of rain, but after many sunny days-I know it can be welcome. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful pictures Becca - again! I love storms and rain and wind and we get some pretty good ones around here although this summer it was just rain alone most of teh time. A good thing really as lightning in the summer here always starts fires. I am glad you finally have cooler weather - I know you have been looking forward to it!
