A Little Steampunk Fix

Image
Hi everyone!   No soft and fluffy yarn and crochet in today's post.   Instead, I thought I'd give you a little bit of rust or you might say,  Steampunk heaven in Seattle.  Welcome to  Gasworks Park When we moved to Seattle,  the first time I noticed this park was from a boat on  Lake Union.   We were out with friends touring the area in a boat where the floating homes are,  and I saw this beautiful hilly, grassy area with some kind of strange, rusty looking industrial stuff.  In the summer, people are out flying kites, having picnics or just hanging  out on the grass here.  It's such a beautiful view of the city.  I happend to drive over on a cloudy day, so the views of the city were  not so great.  Still, in January I met a few people out with their  dogs throwing frisbees!   The grass is lovely, even in winter, and there are paths all the way  to the top of the hill.

It's a Crochet Thing….

Hi friends!   Well, I said I'd be back with some crochet stuff I've been working on,  I just didn't think it would take me so long.  So, I found this cute coaster pattern on line that uses "jute"  and yarn. They were easy to make, and the yarn adds so much to them,  don't you think?   Look at the back, I think even the back looks interesting!  Click  HERE  for the link if you want to make these.  I've been working on this afghan for a while now.  I love it because the squares have been pretty  easy to make even while watching TV.  The colors remind me of the blue hydrangeas I love so much!  Finally, I've been going nuts about adding crocheted edgings on things.  I made a couple of tea towels for gifts, and I'm still  working on more of these.  Don't you just love ticking fabric?  Well, there ya have it!   Guess I'm still crazy about cr

Letting the Cat out of the Bag

Image
It's no secret here, that nothing starts the New Year off better than a new  paper bag to play with!  What is it with cats and bags?  I had this bag left over from Christmas I was going to use it to take a few things to Goodwill. Lucy had other ideas for it. All that wrestling with a paper bag can get you tired out,  so then you need to nap in the sunshine.  Ah…the Good Life!  I'm playing along with a 365 photo a day on Instagram. Each week they give you prompts for your photos. Lucy helped me with  the prompt "Cliche" I used the first photo for: Whatever you do, don't let the cat out of the bag! You can find me HERE  if you want to see more. Have a great week! I have some crochet goodies to show you next time. :-) Becca
