Another Paint Party Friday!

Last week, time got away from me and I didn't get to attend

I didn't want to miss out this week, so I spent some time with my journal and decided to show you this page.

This was a face that I was unhappy with so I just gessoed over the part I didn't like and added some collage,  journaling and more paint!
I like the texture the gesso and papers added.

I still love to try and paint faces.

Here's a little peek at another journal page I'm working on using oil pastels and acrylic paint.
I'm already calling this
"When the Sun Goes Down in the Desert"
You'll know why when you see the finished piece.

Thanks for dropping by!
I do hope you'll stop by and see the works of some of the other artists at PPF!

Happy weekend my friends!
Becca

Love your style in these. It's so theraputic just to create in a journal. I've had a little free time to do this in the last few days, and I just feel better.

I enjoy the faces you do. They are wide-eyed and innocent looking.

Ooo... this is a wonderful journal page, Becca! I love the broken mirror/glass affect you've achieve with the shapes. And your faces are so lovely. I wish my lips looked that good... LOL! Very FUN what you've got going with the oil pastels--can't wait to see more! I've longed preferred chalky pastels, but have in recent months been loving oil pastels more & more. ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

I am always intrigued by layered journal pages like these. I just don't have the time (or the patience) to work like this. Does each page take you days and days to finish?

That's the most wonderful thing about being crafty ~ you can creatively hide any parts you aren't happy with! Your painting looks wonderful Becca!

You're doing more than trying my friend.
You're doing it, and doing it beautifully!!!
I love each one of these; even the one you were unhappy with. My favorite? The last one here. Really so artistic.

Hi Becca, I love your crocheted and tatted flowers and butterflies. So very pretty. And your artwork, painting, journaling is always beautiful! We've cooled off a tad bit more around here. So nice to throw open the doors and enjoy a bit of a morning breeze. Hope you have a super Saturday. Best wishes, Tammy

That's what I like to paint too...portraits, and I want to start writing quotes in my new sketchbook along with those faces. Love all that stuff!! You did a fine job with your girl...collage works!

I had a painting last month that I didn't like the face so much, so I put gesso over a portion of it started over, leaving a portion of her face. I love painting. It freedom at it best. If you don't love something you cover it and go fresh. Love this...thanks for sharing your thoughts. (btw. I usually hate it when bloggers add music, but your chimes are truly awesome. )

I love all of the great texure that you created. Great idea to add gesso and collage to something you weren't sure you liked - that is the great thing about mixed media, you can just keep adding layers until you are happy with it!

Very nice and i love your flowers.I put your blog button on mine. Have a nice weekend Catherine
