Ready for Spring?

Now that Christmas is over, I am always ready to clean up and "get organized!"

Today, December 26th is my husband's birthday, so I don't get all crazy taking down decorations yet,  he still likes the tree up for his birthday, and since he always helps me put the decorations away, I don't think that's what anyone would like to be doing on their birthday anyway.

I did however, organize a few of my fibers, lace, beads & other embellishments.

I'm always on the look out for unusual containers for my art supplies.

I feel more inspired when things are out where I can see them.

This old tin holds new packages of sewing needles.

It's not that I don't like Christmas, I'm just ready to start a new year, and living in a mild climate where some days are so nice you can open your windows & doors, it's hard not to rush things a bit.

I guess it's always been a joke with us since I've been married, that the day after Christmas I'm ready for Spring!

I was surprised to see this, but it looks like my lavender plant is ready for Spring too!

So, goodbye Christmas 2010, it was lovely, but I am looking forward to and ready for a new year to begin!

Right now though, I'm heading out to celebrate my sweet husband's birthday!

When do you take down your Christmas decorations?

See you soon,
Becca

I'm right behind you Becca ready to say good-bye 2010!
Great photos and music.
I usually take the tree down at New Year's and then I get to rearrange give the house a fresh new look!
Was Santa good to you?
Happy Birthday to your hubby!!

P.S. I'm lovin' this guitar music!!
My sweet hubby's birthday was just before Christmas...we have all of his cards on the coffee table! I like to keep things up but do a little every day. I actually smiled when I read your post...I spent the past hour organizing my crafts and sewing supplies. I love to get things in order! Enjoy your week! ♥
You do look organized. I love the ribbon on the clothespins, great idea! I have a similar tobacco tin, the name on it is the same as my grandparents, although they aren't related to the tobacco company.
Happy birthday to your husband.
Not sure if you're heading up this way soon, but they are talking about snow in a few days.
Happy Birthday to your husband! After Christmas, I'm always in a big reorganizing/redecorating mood, too~ I even put a few decorations away today and my husband hung some new closet doors...

I did laugh when you said in your comment that you wanted to put everything away, I took everything down yesterday and it is all put away and I am so ready for spring!! I hate everything sitting around till january looking all sad. I love your containers, they all look so nice and can imagine they are much more inspiring when stored in such beautiful objects. Wish I was creative, I thought one of my new year resolutions would be to learn to knit.

Oh yes ~ Spring please!!! The cold wind is nasty here today.

I hope your hubby has a good birthday!

My decorations got taken down the day after Christmas. I put them up early and take them down early. :)

I have to laugh...I love the Christmas season but am always ready for the New Year. I am waist deep in fabric and paper and beads and threads because I like to start the new year with an organized place and since I just cleaned up the Christmas day "mess" and won't be taking down the decorations until next weekend, my studio is the place to start. It's a hot mess right now but just give my a few more hours! Happy New Year to you!

The tree is coming down tomorrow and I'm going to dive into some crafting while my husband is hiking the Grand Canyon. Definitely ready to sweep away all of the holiday trappings. Happy pre-spring to you.

I love all your containers - I'm with you about seeing my things. I have also spent some time over the past few days trying to bring order into the chaos of my sewing room. I'm not finished yet, but I feel as if I am well on my way.
I usually take down the decorations on January 1st. I like having them up and as I am usually pretty tired after Christmas I am thankful not to have to hurry up to take them down. I always think of the days between Christmas and New Year's as a free zone - no cleaning, no major cooking, nothing but relaxing, reading and enjoying the happy contentment.
I am however anxious for the New Year - I am much better at beginnings than I am at endings!
Yes, goodbye to 2010. To many family members passed away over Christmas, a new year...a new start would be lovely. Love your storage containers for your art supplies. Take care:)

I got so sidetracked looking at all the lovely images on your blog that I forgot to answer your question. I have just bought serif digital scrapbook artist 2 off amazon quite cheaply and think its so easy to use not like these other digi programmes that I just cant work out!

I always get bitten by the clean and organize bug at this time of year - but haven't been able to give in because of art/home projects...it is making me crazy!
Love the way you organized the ribbon on the old clothespins! I hope you have a Happy New Year and that 2011 is full of many blessings!

Gorgeous photos Becca! I wish my lavender plants looked ready for Spring :-)
Over here the tradition is to take down decorations on 12th Night (Jan 6th) - I couldn't possibly take them down before!!! And my tree looks so beautiful I'm tempted to leave it up even longer ;-)
