Weekend Comforts

Hello friends!

It's been raining a lot since Friday, so we spent a lot of time

at home this past weekend, cooking and enjoying the weather.

I decided to try a little Zentangle again.  Who doesn't love to doodle!?

You might remember this from a year ago.

But, since we are living in the PNW now I wanted to show you again the collage I made with

this huge maple leaf, that's larger than my hand.

The leaf I used in my collage came from this tree that is in front of the

school where Russell works.

I remember what a challenge it was trying to get that "single" leaf back to

Las Vegas last year,

without it getting squished on the plane. :-)

Now that we are here, I don't have to worry.

I picked these up the other day on our walk.

I pressed them in a book and will use them again in another collage.

Fetzer, Shatzie and Lucy have all been enjoying the rainy, cloudy weather too.

(I didn't get a picture of Shatzie yet...she's curled up on the new down comforter.)

Lucy likes this spot so she can watch the squirrels.

This weather makes me want comfort food.  That could mean trouble right?

Russell made a delicious, lamb stew and this is the potatoes and

vegetables he roasted in the oven beforehand.

It was so yummy!

Click HERE for the recipe if you'd like to try it!

I also decided it was time now, to crochet an afghan.

Maybe I will finish it by next October. :-)

Hope you have a beautiful week!

Lucys' got the right idea... .just snuggle into a pillow in front of a fire and wait until spring. LOL

Actually, this is my favorite time of the year when I get outdoors the most, but as soon as the snow flies I'll be in front of the fire just like Lucy.

I can feel the warmth of the fire, and hear the cats purring...what comfort that must be to them.

Love your collages, girl you are so talented.

Very neat doodles, and collage and you are crocheting too, all great things to occupy us during the cool wet weather. I love to curl up inside this time of year too.
Your Zentangles are amazing. I actually downloaded a couple of templets last week. I would love to try to do one! Love all of your pretty Fall photos, too! Hugs!

I missed this post, too. It's so busy during the week when we have school. Nice to have some down time now. I have that same yarn you are crocheting with. Are you using a pattern for the afghan? Your kitties are so sweet. And those maple leaves are gorgeous. Lovely zentangles and collage, too. Hope you've had a great week. Tammy
