"The Good Life"
We made it!
Hello friends! Wow, what an adventure this has been!
I am happy and grateful that our move to Washington went pretty well without too many bumps in the road.
(For those of you that knew I was SO worried about getting my grand piano and three cats here safely...all is well!)
As we are settling into our 1933 Craftsman built house, with boxes everywhere, there were still a few things that we did to try and make the house more of a home.
Fresh flowers, and hanging a few pictures to name a few.
I didn't think you'd want to see the "messy stuff" that's still all over the place. So, I thought I'd try to take a few photos to give you a "feel" of our new surroundings.
We even met a few of the neighbors and they had a little wine and cheese gathering on their deck.
I've never lived in a house this old before, and I am loving a lot of the vintage charm that goes with it.
I just can't get over looking out the window and seeing green!
The door to my craft room...
It's full of boxes!
Stay tuned.
I bought my first blue hydrangea!
It's in a large pot just outside one of the windows of my craft room.
We've had some sunshine and warmer days with cloudy, and cooler nights so far.
The view from the deck is a great place to get away from the boxes inside.
We don't have a lot of expensive things, but my piano is very special to me.
I am so grateful that it arrived without any damage!
Finally, I thought I'd share a picture that hubby and I got right before we left Las Vegas.
Growing up in Las Vegas, and being a big fan of Frank, Dean and the Rat Pak I knew this would be perfect for the music room.
The quote at the bottom says:
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink.
They wake up in the morning and that's the best
they are going to feel all day."
-Frank Sinatra-
Again, thank you for all of your kind comments and wonderful wishes regarding our journey.
We have a lot to be thankful for!
When I can take a break from unpacking I will try to stop by for a visit. I feel like I've missed so much with you guys!
Hope you are well too, and enjoying
"The Good Life!"

I always loved visiting Boulder City when I lived in Las Vegas because it seemed like the only place where you could find vintage homes. I loved seeing bits of vintage charm in your new home.
We are moving this summer too, but to Houston TX. It looks like its back to hot weather for us, but we are pretty excited.
:)
Have a good one girl!

You're in a great location and with a view of the lake! Wow!
Hope to see you soon!
Welcome to your new home!

Becca, what a lovely woman you are. That's just what comes to mind.
I feel like my thirst has been slaked just by looking at all of your pictures of rain. I know that the rain can get tiring, yet, coming from a desert, myself (LA), I just love it - I love the rain!!!
This year, in Vermont, where we are, we've had a terrible drought. The dirt in my garden has been dust dry for most of the summer. It seems like I've spent a quarter of my summer just watering the plants.
It's funny, though, how green it all still is, here. Even though our lawn keeps going brown and crunchy.
What I'm trying to get at is, reading you posts - the lush green, the soft blues, the ocean and pebbles and natural yarns... it's all so soothing - so refreshing!
Thank you! =]
love,
me xxo
