She Wore Rain Boots...

Hello dear friends!

We've been on a whirl wind trip to the Seattle area to look for a house.
Needless to say, my stress level has been a little on the high side this past week.
Fortunately, we found a house we are very happy with and now I can start to plan!

The weather during our 3 day visit was sunny and warm, in the 70's.  People were out riding bicycles near the lake, enjoying lunch outside, and walking their dogs.
I can certainly understand why these "rain city" residents love their sunshine!

blue skies

This is the waterfront in Kirkland, Washington
which is less than a 10 minute drive from where I'll be living.
Kirkland is a suburb of Seattle on the Eastside of Lake Washington.

We enjoyed the sunshine while sitting on the docks watching the boats.
I couldn't help squealing with delight when this little family swam up to me.

They were so fun to watch.
Too cute!

...how quickly they swam trying to keep up with mom and dad...

This sweet little girl played on the shore.
Her mother said she loved to wear her "Hello Kitty" rain boots everyday.

I could have sat listening to the water and checking out the view all day.

So much in bloom right now...

Cherry trees,

tulips and daffodils,

I'm not sure what this plant is.  It looked very pretty and came in a darker green variety too.

I love the Magnolia trees...don't you?

...and this is where I'll "hang my hat."
Just a small peek at the entrance to our house from the sidewalk.

I'd like to say thank you to my blog friend, and now soon to be "neighbor"
Judy
and her husband Dick for having us over to their lovely home in Bellevue.
They took us on a beautiful walk and made us a home cooked meal after our long day of house hunting.
I'm so grateful to already have someone I can call "friend" in my new home.

I've been trying to crochet...like I said..."trying"  it's not easy teaching myself, but it's been good for my soul lately.  It's a simple way to relax and take your mind off of things.

What are you up to?
I hope to get by for a visit soon,  I've missed you guys!

Becca

Isn't the Seattle area beautiful this time of year? We drove up from Arizona last yaer at exactly this time of year to catch the ferry and the lushness was astounding. Are you going to be living near Green Lake?
My sister lives near there so we make stops from time to time.
My week is involving a getting ready for our flight this time to our home up north. I seem to be hauling more and more supplies back and forth which I had tried to avoid. Such is the reality of having two studios!
Best to you in your new environs.

Hi Becca!
Glad you have found a house! And a friend already, blogging brings people together right?
I read the posts I've missed but I also think that you should try to take those beautiful iris flowers with you. It will make your house your home in an instant.
Also, that bracelet idea of making for this transition period is such a great idea and I Love the beads! Any chance of selling some bracelets? Let me know if so ok?
Thanks for sharing this all and good luck packing!

What a spectacularly grand adventure! It sounds so lovely! and, so cool and green after the desert. =]

I've been watching the canada geese doing their thing. They've been back for about a month or so. Last week, they were honking and dinging all through the night on the pond across the street. Then, suddenly, they've disappeared. That means that there's a nest out on the other side of the pond. I'm hoping that I can pictures of the babies! =]

Oh, Becca....wishing you peace and that everything goes smoothly and in a timely manner!!!

Your photos turned out great, Becca. Your "mystery plant" is some type of Euphorbia. Catherine told me that it's related to poinsettia, and sure enough that's what my garden book says, along with crown of thorns, another interesting plant. Crazy, eh? We love the Kirkland waterfront; did you find the great gelato place there?

I think you are going to LOVE living in Seattle. It looks Wonderful! The gardens in your pictures show spring just as it is here in Devon in the UK at the moment - you could have taken those pictures here lol!
We have a lot of rain too so, likewise, when the sun shines everyone is out and about.
I am so glad you have Judy as a friend already!
Not much out of the ordinary happening here apart from em really enjoying creating collages - all that lovely paper and glue!!
It looks like you will have a lovely garden in your new home too.

Lake Washington is beautiful. Only been on the Seattle side, there is a wonderful walking boardwalk out onto the lake, really nice wildlife as you so aptly captured with your baby ducks! Glad you found a new house to make into a home! xox
