Hydrangeas... I can never get enough of them, and this is the time of year they  show off their moody blooms!  I love referring to them as "moody blooms" because of their ever changing  colors depending on the soil's composition. Hello friends,  Gosh, I hate it when I get behind on blogging!  I've just been staying busy and sometimes I don't  always take the time to use my "big girl camera" and I just snap off  shots on my iPhone.  How lazy is that? :-)  Anyway, it's great to get back to my blog!  These beautiful, blue hydrangeas belong to our neighbor, Camille.  I must say, we are SO fortunate to live in a fun neighborhood with such great neighbors all around!  How's your summer so far?  Well, technically it's not quite summer yet,  is it?  I guess it feels like summer to me since we've been enjoying summer like  temperatures already! (summer weather usually starts in July for Seattle.)  In fact, I'm kind of wondering if it's ever going to rain again! Lol This is a new shepherds hook we bought that will keep  the squirrels at bay.  I love seeing squirrels aro...

It's that time of year again when we begin to  notice signs of Autumn.  The longer, brighter days of summer  are fading away just like   the brighter, vibrant colors of my hydrangeas.  However, there's just something I find so inspiring about these fading beauties. If you look at them closely,  you can see all the  different colors and stages the pedals take on.  Stages of life.  So,  recently bought some new yarn for another  lap sized afghan I wanted to make. When I got home, I realized why I might have been attracted to the  colors of yarn I picked out.   Now, crocheting this piece takes on a whole new meaning for me.  An Autumn Hydrangea Afghan.   There is no season in all the year so beautiful,  so radiant with glory, as the early autumn....

 Hi Everyone!  I hope 2013 has started of well for each of you!  The first two days of the year were  bright and sunny here, so a lot of people were out enjoying the  January sunshine. I took advantage of that time to rake and work in the yard a bit,  and look what I found!  A Hydrangea Skeleton Leaf.  I've only seen photographs of these and always thought they were so  beautiful and delicate.   So, I was thrilled to find one right outside my back door!  They sort of remind me of the "lacy crochet" I love so much. Speaking of crochet...yes, I am still "hooked!"  (hardy har har) :-)  I have some colorful snowflakes to show you soon.   Right now, it's raining outside,  so I'm off to spend some creative time  in my art room.  Enjoy your day.  Becca
