One Rainy Day in Seattle...

Hi Friends,

If you've ever visited our "Rain City" before, then I know you'll be

familiar with some of the photos I took.

If not, then I hope you'll enjoy the journey

through my post here today.

This is the famous Pikes Market Place.

Summer is the busy time here, but I love to visit this place even on a rainy, chilly day.

During one of my visits here, I ran into this man,  and I was pleasantly surprised

to find him painting!

I'm not experienced with "street photography."

I'm always worried that I might get caught.

In fact, in this case, and to make a long story short, I DID get caught. Lol

Since I was already having lunch here, I brought him a sandwich and chatted with

him a bit, explaining my curiosity.

He was happy to show me some of his paintings which included one

of the ferry you see crossing here.

I remember thinking to myself...

How beautiful it is, that this man no matter his background, or abilities as an artist,

comes out here alone,  inspired by the

beauty of Puget Sound and paints!

It was a beautiful memory of Seattle for me, and at the end of this day,

the sun came out. :-)

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, and remember…

spring is just around the corner!

Hmmm....these don't look very rainy, Becca! LOL We got drenched today just walking to the car after church, and the signs on I-90 said chains were required at Snoq. Pass.
Great photos though, and proof that it doesn't always rain. I'll bet that painter appreciated your kindness!

I have found people are usually very receptive to taking their photo taken if you ask permission. Thank you for the tour, looks like a wonderful town.

I am glad you "got caught," otherwise you would not have gotten to speak to him! :-)

Happy day to you!

I just love the public market sign. Always like to look at my own photos of it too. Such a great place with all it's fresh abundance. Is that that marvelous French pastry shop? Swoon....nice to see someone painting...xox

I loved these photos! Although I've never been to Seattle, I enjoyed your little tour. You have an artist's eye and obviously an appreciation for little and special everyday details. I am the same way, and often stop to catch these little moments. They make our lives rich.

Hmmm...yup...I got to get me to Seattle. So many wonderful things to see!

I don't know. It was -50c here with the windchill this weekend and this morning we are getting a dump of snow. In like a lion out like a lamb? I am hoping so.

Fantastic! I am in awe of artists who can paint their surroundings. Beautiful photos of a lovely encounter. Blessings, Tammy

Becca, you have such a sense of clear direction in your shots...they are always beautiful.

I'm seeping in the moist air of Seattle...it's been so long since I was there, but it still seems so familiar.

One of my favorite places in the world.
