Fun and Games

Since it's been too hot to go outside and play, I thought today I'd get out some of my old games to show you.  Who wants to play Monopoly?

This game has been in our family for years now.  Don't you just love the pieces made of wood instead of plastic?

The Game of Sorry
Also with playing pieces made of wood.

My Dad taught me how to play checkers on this very board.  It looks like the red pieces have faded a bit over the years so now they look pink.
I have many fond memories of playing checkers with Dad.  He also taught me how to play Ping-Pong and Crazy Eight.

The other side of the Checker board is Backgammon.

Do any of you remember Pick-Up Sticks?

Of course, Jacks!  These have some "weight" to them...not like the plastic ones now.

I haven't found anyone yet that remembers this card game for kids.  I used to love this game as you can tell by the shape the box is in!
I did however see these cards in an antique store one time.  Humm...antique?  :-)

Finally, I'm not sure what this is called, but this has been in the family for a while too.  It's made of metal and you get the numbers all lined up.  Leave this on a coffee table now and someone is sure to pick it up and give it a try!
Well, I'm going to take all my toys and go home  say bye for now.
I hope everyone's week is off to a great start.
Thanks for coming over to play!
Until next time,
Becca

The games all look familiar! I love that little number game in the last photo....don't remember the name of it either! But it was a challenge! We played cards..and dominoes when our grandkids were here last month! We love to sit at the table and play games! ♥

What a charming post! I have our old Monopoly game too - and it has the little wooden houses and hotels! We used to play all the time when we were kids, for hours. When my own children were young we used to play quite often and a couple of weeks ago, when my son was home for a visit, he dug it out and he and his girlfriend played a game. Thanks for the fun post Becca!

Hang on to your vintage games... they don't make them with the wood pieces anymore. They are usually plastic now. I have not heard of orbit before, but I do have some other vintage cards.
