On a warm December day...

Image
Fetzer wanted me to show you our Christmas tree.  I've had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year.  The fact that our temperatures are almost reaching 70 degrees might have something to do with it. At least it cools off to the 40's at night, and we can have the fire on, but this is what I wore today.  My MIL will be here in a couple of weeks to spend Christmas with us.   We enjoy having her with us, but I need to get my behind in gear and get my craft room guest room decorated and ready for her.  I do hope the nice weather holds up for her.  She lives in Bend, Oregon and it is very cold and snowy up there this time of year.   This Friday night I'm going to get all "dolled" up and go to a Holiday Party with my hubby.  The party will be at one of the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.  The weather is supposed to still be pretty mild, so at least I won't freeze in my party dress!  I have to admit that even though...

A weekend project

Image
Thank you all for your lovely messages on my last post.   I will be fine.  I like to express my emotions through music, art & photography, so thank you for letting me share that with you.  It's part of who I am.   Something that makes me happy and keeps me relaxed and my mind distracted (other than yard work I've discovered over the last two days) is stitching. This is an old project that I dug out of the closet and decided this is just what I need this weekend to keep my mind busy with "fun" things.  I love this because I can take these little birds and work on them while watching something on TV with the hubby, or just hanging out in my craft room.  This is a little ceramic tray I bought while visiting a little store in Seattle that I just love. Watson Kennedy I didn't realize until my last visit that they are only in Seattle, but you can check out there web site, or if you ever visit Seattle, do drop in, it's a feast for the senses!  L...

Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Image
( If you're listening, go to my playlist at the bottom of the page, and click on  Diana Krall's beautiful rendition of  Boulevard of Broken Dreams ) "The joy that you find here you borrow, you cannot keep it long it seems."  Have you ever had a really big dream?  One you wanted so badly it became an obsession?  One you thought would have a chain reaction of nothing but good?   Put all of your time and energy into that dream?  Believed with all your heart it was a worthy cause? Put a time limit on receiving that dream and then it didn't come true?  If you are like me, you have. Then you are left asking yourself  What went wrong?  What do I do now?  Seems like I've been away for a while.   I've missed my blogging friends.   So, for now... Thank you, my dear friends,  for all the lovely Birthday & Thanksgiving wishes you left on my last post. I apologize for being a bit out of touch lately.  I hope...

Counting my Blessings

Image
I just want to wish my family, and all of my blogging friends out there who are celebrating Thanksgiving,   a very happy and joyful holiday!  (I used textures from the Graphics Fairy, and Shadow House Creations on the above photo) (stock photo) I took this photo on my last flight from Seattle. I get a little nervous flying sometimes, but I found having my camera and taking photos helped me to stay calm, not to mention a sky like this!  Another thing I do when I fly and the turbulence scares me is look out the window and think about my Mom...it's as if I'm closer to her up there.    I love this quote, it really hit home with me this Thanksgiving holiday!  Well, you guessed it!  I'm off to Seattle again this weekend, but this time it's to celebrate my Birthday! Since my Birthday is on a Sunday this year, and "the hawks" are playing at home, I couldn't think of a better way to spend my day.  (hubby thinks it's pretty cool he's married to someo...

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Image
Lots of mixed emotions going on in my head lately. (I chose this song by Jack Johnson for the "title")  Last night my photography addiction helped me by "distracting" me from the real world.   Still sitting ...still waiting for an answer...still wishing.  Hugs to all of you that have left me such beautiful comments, thank you!  Becca

Let's go for a walk!

Image
Grab your favorite hot beverage and join me for a walk! It's about 53 degrees fahrenheit with a light sprinkle of rain and occasional "sun breaks".  I know I should watch were I'm going, but I can't stop looking at all these leaves,  they're so beautiful!  Oh look, here's a little bench, but it might be a little wet from the rain.  Still, we could sit for a minute and listen to the fountain near by if you'd like.  Look, blue sky, looks like we might get a little sun today. Thanks for joining me on my walk today!   Let's see now, what sounds good for dinner?  I know, how about a big bowl of clam chowder and warm sour dough bread? Yum!  Until next time,  Becca

Crafts n things

Hi everyone!  Wow, last week was so hectic and now, where did the weekend go?  In between trying to get unpacked from our recent trip, and getting the laundry done,  I also wanted to do a little crafting and a blog post.  Here it is Sunday night and I'm just getting around to my post!  I've been working on a few different things I wanted to show you, some of which are "thank-you" gifts for a couple of friends.  The above photo is something I'm working on and not sure where I'm going with it yet, but I was inspired by something I saw on  Rebecca Sower's blog . I'm sure you've seen her work, but if you haven't, you should go over and check out her blog, and tell her I sent you.  You will surely be inspired!  I have a stamp with this quote that I just love.   I used it on this little thank you card I made.   I love making collage tags with tissue paper napkins, it's so easy and fun to do!  All you need is any tag from an...
