Faded Beauty

It's that time of year again when we begin to

notice signs of Autumn.

The longer, brighter days of summer

are fading away just like

the brighter, vibrant colors of my hydrangeas.

However, there's just something I find so inspiring about these

fading beauties.

If you look at them closely,  you can see all the

different colors and stages the pedals take on.

Stages of life.

So,  recently bought some new yarn for another

lap sized afghan I wanted to make.

When I got home, I realized why I might have been attracted to the

colors of yarn I picked out.

Now, crocheting this piece takes on a whole new meaning for me.

An Autumn Hydrangea Afghan.

There is no season in all the year so beautiful,
so radiant with glory, as the early autumn.
There is no time when the human soul
drinks in so fully the glory and beauty of nature.
All objects of beauty are more beautiful
while passing away from us.

Bekka, it's beautiful. I am in deep south Texas so I'm enjoying autumn through your website. It is 99 degrees here!
Beautiful! You have a knack for color matching. No sense of Fall here. Hot as heck in the afternoons. And everything looks the same, all the time. The sun is setting earlier, that is the only sign right now of the winter months to come. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

These images are PURE DELIGHT to the heart and eyes, Becca...sooo lovely! I love September and all the changes and observing them slowly happening over the weeks as autumn gets under way. LOVELY crochet! I'm doing a good bit of crochet too, as well as quilting. Still deciding on quilting for two new quilt tops--decisions, decisions... ;o) Happy Autumn Days ((HUGS))

Don't you think the hydrangeas dried out earlier than usual this year? Glad to see you are keeping the crochet hook busy! :>)
